Gilluly completed a comprehensive survey of the Ajo District in southern Arizona.He provides a detailed description of the physiography, geology, stratigraphy and structural geology of the region. This is followed by a description to the metamorphic rocks, the ore bodies and their genesis. He provides a description of the mineralogy of the various ore bodies, a history of the mining in the region, describes the mines and focuses on the New Cornelia copper mine.
