The work is complete and in the original boards with a later black cloth spine and paper spine label with typed title. Boards are scuffed and torn and binding is tight. Text has light toning to a few signatures, penciled note to margin of one text page. Errata note on first paste down. Penned note “with the respect of the society” on paste down. Union Theological Seminary library stamp and discard stamp.

This very rare and historic work contains thirteen essays dealing with the question of manufacturing in the United States and the need for protective tariffs on imports which threatened the young companies in a young nation.
