Richardson (1740-1820) was an Scottish physician and rector of Moy. He wrote on geology and agriculture was active in political movements and was instrumental in establishing the yeomanry movement in resistance to the United Irishmen. He published two papers in the Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh on the geology and structure of the dykes found in the area known as the Giant's Causeway in Scotland. The views are quite stunning.
