Product Description
Hague, Arnold & Iddings Joseph P.; Yellowstone National Park Folio, Wyoming. Geologic Atlas Folio #30. Washington D. C., U.S. Geological Survey, 1896. Large folio (18 x 21 inches), pp. 6 (with explanatory text on inside of covers), 3 plates with photographic views of Yellowstone Park, 8 colored and tinted maps (geological and topographic), and a few text illustrations.

This scare atlas of Yellowstone is in the original light tan soft title wraps with a black cloth spine. The wraps are clean with toning to the outer margins and a small stamp of a Kittery Maine library on upper left. The text and all the plates and maps are very clean. In very good condition.

Between 1894 and 1945 the USGS issued 227 folios covering various areas of the United States. The text pages of a folio covered the geology, historical geology, stratigraphy and if present the mineral and mining industry.
In the Yellowstone folio Hague discusses the stratigraphy, geology, topography and historical geology of the Yellowstone region as well as the thermal waters, geysers and their mineralogy. Iddings discusses the igneous geology of the region.

The folio will be shipped lightly rolled in shipping wrap in either a USPS or Fed Ex shipping tube.
