James Geikie (1839-1915) was a Scottish geologist and the younger brother of Archibald Geikie. He succeeded his brother as Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at the University of Edinburgh. He wrote major works on glacial geology and the role played by land ice in sculpting the landscape.
