	Rare Texas Geology book by Ferdinand Roemer, Die Kreidebildungen von Texas, 1852. Roemer, Ferdinand; Die Kreidebildungen von Texas und ihre Oreganischen  Einschlusse. Bonn, bel Adolph Marcus, 1852. Small folio, pp. vi, 100, 11 plates of fossils. This very rare work is complete and in the original boards with a later cloth spine and paper spine label. The binding is tight and clean. The inner hinges have been nicely restored, outer margins of first leaves are brittle and have minor archival repairs. The work is inscribed by Roemer on the second end sheet to the New York Lyceum of Natural History which became the New York Academy of Sciences. The work was transferred from the Academy to the American Museum of Natural History and subsequently disposed of. Academy book plate on end sheet and stamp on upper margin of each plate. Museum book plate and cancellation stamp on end sheet and verso of title page. Over all a very good copy of a very rare work on Texas geology. PRICE: $1,700.00

Toning to end sheets of text with light foxing to contents which is common with the work. Early ownership book plate on paste down. The  two large folded maps have been re-backed with Japanese tissue on verso of folds. The maps are clean with light toning at folds. Over all a very good set with both maps present.
