The book is complete and in a modern full calf binding with the contemporary gilt spine label preserved. The binding is tight and very clean. An early faded signature is on the title page. Light to moderate foxing to three of the plates and title page. Light toning to the map margins and some light spotting on a few text pages. Over all in very good condition with the scarce map present.

The pamphlet is in a modern archival wrap with typed titles on cover. The wrap is pristine, light foxing to first and last pages of pamphlet. A very good copy of a very rare Silliman speech.

The set is complete with the two text volumes in the original cloth with gilt titles and dust jackets and atlas in original stiff paper boards. Light wear to atlas case edges, bindings on text volumes tight and pristine with clear acetate sleeves over dust jackets. Private ownership stamp of E. DeGolyer on title pages, and verso of maps and later signature of noted geolist John Dewey on end sheets. The text maps and plates are very clean. A very good complete set with the rare maps present.
