The work is complete and in a modern calf and cloth binding with gilt title label. The binding is tight and clean. Text is clean, with light chipping to margin of an end sheet and signature of owner on end sheet. In very good condition. The work is quite rare.

An Austro-Hungarian geologist, stratigrapher and paleontologist; Mojsisovics (1839-1907) is noted for his studies of the Austrian Triassic. He made many pioneering studies on the cephalopoda in the Tyrol, Vorarlberg the Salzburg district, Yugoslavia, and parts of Italy and is responsible for naming of the Carnian stage after the Carnian Alps in 1869. He is noted for his pioneering research in the Dolomite reefs of the South Tyrols. That research is presented in his comprehensive work “ Die Dolomit-Riffe von Sudtirol und Venetien”. The work is very rare.
