The book is complete and in a 19th century cloth over marbled boards with a gilt cover title and spine title. Wear to margins of spine restored. X-lib. with canceled tamps verso of title page and later owners embossed stamp on lower margin of title page. In very good condition.

Drapiez (1778-1856) was a Belgian naturalist, instructor at the École Polytechnique in Paris, and the author of a number of works on mineralogy, geology and paleontology. His work on Hainaut is a  topographical study on the geology, paleontology and mineralogy of the Province of Hainaut in western Belgium bordering France. The work contains a classification of the fossils found in Hainaut as well as a classification of the minerals found.
