This is the first edition of the French translation of Bergman's Sciagraphia made by Jean André Mongez. Mongez added extensive notes regarding each substance, citing the works of other chemists and mineralogists. The translation is actually based on the German of Johann Jacob Ferber, who had brought the work up to date.
