An English invertebrate paleontologist; ; Foord (1845-1934) was a museum curator in Canada, followed by a similar position at the York Museum before becoming the Librarian for the Royal Dublin Society. He studied the Carboniferous cephalopods and Paleozoic corals of Ireland. His above work is a detailed systematic and beautifully illustrated study of the cephalopods found in Ireland, including locality data.
