A German mineralogist and stratigrapher, Glocker (1793-1858) published early studies of the mineralogy of Moravia and an important mineralogical treatise, Handbuch der Mineralogie in 1831. He followed this work with a series of works intended to keep the Handubch up to date. The two hefts listed above are the first updates covering the period 1831 to 1834 and are exceedingly rare. Little is known about the two additional supplements. The first covers 1835 and the second covers the period 1836-1837. Together these provide a complete set of Glocker's supplements.
