The work is in a modern archival folder with a facsimile title cover. The binding is tight and clean, text is clean with minor light foxing. In very good condition.

Andae (1817-1885) was a German paleontologist and geologist. He began his career as a private docent, and later became professor extraordinary in paleontology and geology at the University of Bonn, from which he had received his Ph.D. There he also became the custodian of the university’s exceptional mineral collection. ?Andrae published works in mineralogy, geology and paleobotany. His work on the fossil flora of Siebenburgens is beautifully illustrated and very scarce. The region is now Transylvania in central Rumania.
