Text volumes are bound in calf and marbled boards, spine titles faded, corners bumped and bindings scuffed, text and plates are clean, x-lib. John Crear Lib. with bookplates and small stamps. Atlas volume is in the original title wraps, minor cover soiling, binding is tight and maps are very clean. The set is complete and In very good condition.

The Carnegie Expedition to China was carried out in 1903-1904. volume 1, pt. 1:  Descriptive topography and geology contributions are by Bailey Willis, Eliot Blackwelder, and R. H. Sargent. The Cambrian faunas volume is by Charles D. Walcott who writes extensively on the trilobites. Additional contributions in this volume are by Stuart Weller on Ordovician fossils and George Girty on Upper Paleozoic fossils.
