The book is complete and in the original paper covered boards with a paper spine label. The binding is tight and clean with adhesion marks from owners catalog numbering. Book plate of C.H.F. Peters on paste down, older plate removed. Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters  1813 – 1890) was a
German-American astronomer, and one of the first scientists to discover asteroids.Text is very clean. In very good condition.

Lach (? - 1796), a German scholar, provides an introduction to the knowledge of the names of the stars and their meaning along with illustrations from the Arabic language and astronomy. He begins with an accurate description Arabico-Cusic Sphere which was in the museum of Cardinal Borgia at Velletri. He then provides a compilation of names of the principal constellations and single stars known to ancient astronomers.
